Most people in the US don't know this but I spent last week in the Netherlands to renew my visa.
I obviously also visited friends and family.

I must admit I didn't know how I would react to seeing him in his current state. The last time I saw him was in summer 2005 when he was still in good health.
But it felt good to see see him and grandma again. Despite the heavy stroke he suffered back in March 2006 he still recognized me and was laughing quite a bit.
He's half paralyzed, sitting in a wheel chair and can't speak much but he still understood what the other family members and me were talking about.
I obviously wish he would still be in his old good health but it's reality one has to face and accept. He's had a good life and I hope he'll continue to live on for quite a bit cause I would like to see him again on my next trip to the Netherlands.
One last note, I hope he doesn't hear anything about the current situation in Hungary. That would break his heart for sure and he can definitely do without that...
