weeping for a nation

Though I'm only half Hungarian the country's sad history and continued misery caused by all its governments is something I can't shake off easily.

Last Monday, October 23rd was the memorial day for the Revolution back in 1956. Many Hungarians fled the country, among them my grandparents and their children, my mom being one of them.
However many Hungarian bravely stood up to the Russian communist giant who in front of the eyes of the whole world violently removed all revolutionary voices.
It's unbelievably sad that the entire world knew about this and actually saw it happen but nobody came to the rescue of the poor Hungarians.

What is even sadder is the current situation of Hungary. The government is led by a liar which has provoked angry responses from the people who feel betrayed. Despite the call for his resignation he stays.
In this country which has had more than its share of lies and oppression by governments the agony continues...
